Autism in Down's Syndrome: Three Case ReportsUniversity of Birmingham, UK

Oaklands Centre, Birmingham, UK The association of Down's syndrome and autism is becoming increasingly recognized. We describe three individuals with this dual diagnosis and emphasize the need to consider it particularly in people with abnormalities in their social, communication and language development that are discrepant for their overall level of learning disability. The need to make this diagnosis as early as possible is important to ensure appropriate education and future service provision.
